Alabama Nursing Student Abbie Stockard Crowned Miss America 2025

Abbie Stockard, a 22-year-old nursing student and cheerleader from Auburn University, has been crowned Miss America 2025.

The pageant, held on December 5 at the Walt Disney Theater in Orlando, Florida, featured contestants from all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Stockard's victory earned her a $50,000 scholarship, which she plans to use to further her education and pursue a career in pediatrics.

During the competition, Stockard showcased her talents and intellect across various segments, including a contemporary dance performance to Lauren Daigle's "You Say" during the talent portion. In the interview segment, she addressed the declining labor force among 25 to 54-year-olds post-COVID-19, emphasizing the need for skill adaptation and workforce growth.

Stockard's win marks the fourth time a contestant from Alabama has secured the Miss America title.

She succeeds Madison Marsh, the 2024 Miss America and the first active-duty Air Force officer to hold the title.

Beyond her academic and pageant achievements, Stockard is in a relationship with NBA player Walker Kessler of the Utah Jazz. Notably, both celebrated significant victories on the same night, with Kessler leading his team to a win coinciding with Stockard's pageant triumph.

Stockard expressed her gratitude and excitement following her win, stating, "This is insane. I don't know what I did to deserve this. Holy Moly. I'm so excited, I'm so grateful."

As Miss America 2025, Stockard will embark on a year-long journey advocating for various causes, engaging in public speaking, and representing the Miss America Organization on both national and international platforms.
