Nicki Minaj Faces Potential Criminal Charges Following Former Manager's Assault Allegations

Nicki Minaj is under legal scrutiny after her former manager, Brandon Garrett, filed a lawsuit alleging assault and battery during an incident in April 2024. The Detroit Police Department has submitted a warrant request to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office, which is currently evaluating whether to pursue criminal charges against the rapper.

Garrett's lawsuit claims that during Minaj's "Pink Friday 2" tour stop at Detroit's Little Caesars Arena, she became enraged upon learning he had delegated the task of picking up her prescription to another individual. He alleges that Minaj verbally threatened him, stating, "You're a dead man walking," and physically assaulted him by striking his face and wrist. Fearing for his safety, Garrett reportedly hid in a bathroom for several hours and was later denied access to the tour bus, leaving him stranded in Detroit.

In response to the lawsuit, Minaj's attorney, Judd Burstein, dismissed the allegations as "completely false and frivolous," expressing confidence that the matter will be resolved in Minaj's favor.

The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office has yet to announce a decision regarding the filing of criminal charges. This development adds to a series of legal challenges for Minaj, including a previous arrest in Amsterdam in May 2024, which she addressed publicly, suggesting that former management may have been involved.

As the situation unfolds, Minaj's legal team is preparing to contest the allegations, while the public and media closely monitor the potential implications for her career.
