Rihanna Brings Sons RZA and Riot to Support A$AP Rocky During Assault Trial

In a show of familial solidarity, Rihanna attended the closing arguments of A$AP Rocky's assault trial on February 13, 2025, accompanied by their two young sons, RZA, 2, and Riot, 1. The high-profile trial, held at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center in Los Angeles, centers on allegations that A$AP Rocky, born Rakim Mayers, discharged a firearm at his former associate, A$AP Relli (Terell Ephron), during a dispute in November 2021. Mayers has consistently denied the charges, asserting that the weapon in question was a prop used during a music video shoot.

Rihanna arrived at the courthouse dressed in a black leather jacket and python-print boots, while her sons were seen in formal attire. This marked the first occasion that the children were present at the trial proceedings. During a recess, Rihanna was overheard encouraging her sons to "wish Daddy good luck" before re-entering the courtroom without them.

The trial has garnered significant media attention, not only due to the celebrity status of those involved but also because of the contrasting narratives presented in court. Prosecutors allege that Mayers used a real firearm during the altercation, while the defense maintains it was a non-functional prop. If convicted on the two felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, Mayers could face up to 24 years in prison.

The jury is expected to begin deliberations following the conclusion of closing arguments. As the legal proceedings draw to a close, the presence of Rihanna and their children underscores the personal stakes involved for the family.
